RELACÃO ENTRE O PERCENTUAL DE GORDURA CORPORAL E O NÍVEL DE DESEMPENHO DE CRIANÇAS PRÉ-PÚBERES EM TESTES DE APTIDÃO FÍSICA RELACIONADA À SAÚDE.

- Abstract
Este estudo teve por objetivo avaliar a relação entre o percentual de gordura corporal e o nível de desempenho de crianças pré-púberes em testes de aptidão física relacionada à saúde. Participaram da pesquisa 16 crianças, de ambos os sexos, com idades entre 9 e 12 anos, participantes do Projeto Brinca Mané (PBM), vinculado ao Centro de Desportos (CDS) da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Na coleta de dados, realizaramse as medidas antropométricas de estatura (m), massa corporal (kg) e das dobras cutâneas tricipital e subescapular (mm), bem como os testes de resistência aeróbia (9 minutos), resistência muscular (abdominal) e flexibilidade (banco de sentar e alcançar). Os resultados indicaram que o desempenho das crianças com percentual de gordura considerado recomendável (GR), nos testes físicos de resistência aeróbia e flexibilidade, foi superior ao das que apresentaram percentual de gordura elevado (GE). Por outro lado, as crianças com adiposidade elevada apresentaram melhor desempenho no teste de resistência abdominal. Houve correlação inversa moderada (r = -0,57) e significativa (p = 0,03) entre o percentual de gordura e o desempenho no teste de resistência aeróbia, indicando que altos níveis de gordura corporal afetam negativamente o desempenho aeróbio. Recomanda-se a realização de novas investigações com este foco problemático, ampliando e diversificando a faixa etária das crianças, diagnosticando-se e comparando-se os efeitos do percentual de gordura corporal sobre as variáveis da aptidão física relacionada à saúde entre distintas realidades sociocontextuais.
