- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of assessing heart rates in newborn infants during the first 30 minutes of birth using auscultation. Topics discussed include the studies on the measurement of heart beat in newborn infants, the recommendations by International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation, an organization for resuscitation protocols, on the rise in heart rate during ventilation and the use of electrocardiography and stethoscope in monitoring heartbeat.
