- Abstract
The article discusses what the author refers to as a deficiency in the U.S. Federal Rules of Civil Procedure regarding the BitTorrent computer network protocol and copyright trolls which are law firms, attorneys, and other organizations that acquire the copyrights of particular works such as films and then file lawsuits against copyright infringing Internet users. Legal settlements and extortion are examined, along with the legal aspects of peer-to-peer technology and file transfers.
