- Abstract
The authors discuss a case of global left and right ventricular dysfunction after tranexamic acid injection in a 45-year-old polytrauma patient. They mention the increased use of antifibrinolytic tranexamic acid following the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) ban on aprotinin. The effectivity of tranexamic acid in treating trauma-induced blood loss and coagulopathy is also addressed.
