- Abstract
The article discusses the procedure of adult and neonatal pig islets isolation and presents illustration on the distinction between adult and neonatal pig islets. It highlights a step by step procedure of removing the pancreas of the pig under sterile conditions as well as the criteria on assessing the quality of islet. Accordingly, neonatal islets are robust and easy to culture while adult islets are quite fragile and difficult to culture.
