- Abstract
The article analyzes the use of historical images and student achievement in the U.S. government educational project the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). It discusses the use of Document-Based Questions (DBQs) developed by the organization the National Assessment Governing Board, how primary source visual images are utilized in the NAEP assessment, and how are such images used to determine the historical thinking skills of students.
