- Abstract
Objetivos: avaliar o impacto de um programa de saúde realizado em ambiente escolar nos níveis pressóricos de escolares da rede pública de ensino de Vitória/ES-Brasil. Métodos: foi realizado um ensaio comunitário randomizado com 237 escolares (6 a 12 anos) de duas escolas públicas, definidas aleatoriamente como escola intervenção e controle. Os indivíduos do grupo intervenção participaram de 11 sessões de educação em saúde durante 4 meses (julho a outubro de 2014). Para testar as diferenças entre os grupos, foram utilizados o teste do qui-quadrado (variáveis categóricas) e o teste t pareado ou Wilcoxon (variáveis contínuas). A taxa de variação da pressão arterial sistólica (PAS) e pressão arterial diastólica (PAD) ao longo do seguimento, de acordo com o grupo de alocação, foi avaliada usando modelos generalizados lineares para medidas repetidas no tempo. Resultados: houve redução nas médias de PAS (0,5 mmHg) e PAD (0,6 mmHg) no grupo intervenção e aumento no grupo controle, com diferença significativa na variação da PA entre os grupos ao longo do período de acompanhamento (p <0,05). Conclusão: uma intervenção de baixo custo e fácil implementação pode ser um dos fatores associados a menores níveis pressóricos sanguíneos no grupo estudado, sendo possível a reprodução em ambiente escolar.
