- Abstract
Solar urticaria caused by visible light in a 33-year-old male refractory to treatment with omalizumab Solar urticaria (SU) is a rare photodermatosis characterized by development of urticarial papules and plaques within minutes of exposure to ultraviolet (UV)A, UVB, or visible light. In summary, this case illustrates the challenges of managing patients with SU and demonstrates that multiple treatment modalities need to be used in improving the quality of life of these patients.
