The article focuses on the book "The Spirit of the Constitution: John Marshall and the 200-Year Odyssey" by David S. Schwartz on the U.S. Supreme Court's case McCulloch v. Maryland and subject of American constitutional law and its development. Topics discussed include irrelevant to the actual practice of law and competent lawyer; need of giving aid and comfort to an anti-nationalist form of federalism and U.S. Constitution must be adapted to the various crises of human affairs.
