- Abstract
The article discusses a study that examined anti-nucleosome antibodies in 54 consecutive systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients at the Evangelic University Hospital in Parana, Brazil. The researchers performed enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) to detect anti-nucleosome antibodies, with nucleosomes extracted from calf thymus chromatin serving as antigen. They propose considering sclerodema as a possibility while searching for the exact diagnosis of a connective tissue disease in a patient positive for anti-nucleosome antibodies.
