- Authors
Burgmann, Verity; Milner, Andrew
- Abstract
The article discusses the Australian green bans environmental and social movement. It notes the movement's origins in the refusal of construction workers of the Australian labor union the New South Wales Builders Labourers’ Federation (NSWBLF) to work on construction projects deemed ecologically harmful. Several leaders of the movement are examined, including Jack Mundey. The author also comments on utopian socialism and universalism, exploring the ideas of philosophers Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.
