- Abstract
The article focuses on a study on the use of ultrasound-guided axillary brachial plexus block in a child with dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (EB) needing surgical treatment of the right hand. It cites the challenges facing the anaesthetist in handling patients suffering from EB. The major subtypes of EB include epidermolytic EB, lucidolytic EB and mixed EB. It provides a comparison between the potential advantages of ultrasound guidance of nerve blocks and nerve stimulation techniques.
