- Abstract
This article, titled "Unexpected causes of moderate chronic pelvic pain in women: two cases of intra-abdominal localization of intrauterine contraceptive devices," discusses two cases where ultrasound was used to detect intrauterine devices (IUDs) located outside of the uterus in the pelvic cavity. The study highlights the importance of considering both ultrasound and endoscopic images for accurate diagnosis and the competence of the sonologist. The cases presented involve an IUD located in the Douglas pouch and another case of uterine perforation and rectal penetration by the IUD. The article provides valuable information for researchers and medical professionals studying chronic pelvic pain and the potential complications of IUDs.
