- Title
The Economics of Naked Short Selling.
- Authors
Culp, Christopher L.; Heaton, J. B.
- Abstract
The article focuses on naked short selling. Short sale is defined by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as any sale of a security which the seller does not own or any sale which is consummated by the delivery of a security borrowed by or for the account of the seller. The authors believe that the practice is unlikely to have significant negative effects on capital markets.
