- Abstract
The article presents information about the book "Liberalism, Community, and Culture," by Will Kymlicka. The book defends liberalism. Kymlicka rejects the communitarian criticism that liberalism necessarily undervalues or misrepresents individuals' membership of a community and a culture. His favourite strategy is to distinguish weak from strong communitarian claims, arguing that the former are plausible but compatible with liberalism while the latter though inconsistent with liberalism, are also implausible. In the second part of the book Kymlicka offers a liberal defence of minority rights.
