- Abstract
Citrate solution combustion (CSC) method was adopted to synthesize precursor for Ba2Ti9O20(B2T9) phase. The precursor transformed into B2T9 phase after 900 °C calcination and 1,200 °C re-calcination. The relations of nitrate/citrate (n/c) ratio with the relative amount of either intermediate BaTi5O11(BT5) phase in calcined product or B2T9 phase in re-calcined product were investigated. The results show that the purity of B2T9 phase in re-calcined product is related to the n/c ratio through different amount of intermediate BT5 phase in calcined products. In all the ratios tested, n/c ratio of 6.33 is optimal. The corresponding bulk ceramic shows good bulk density and dielectric property.
