- Abstract
This article presents a study regarding the presence of certain symbiotic microorganisms which is associated with insecticide resistance in insects. The study presents a comparison of two isofemale lines, Rickettsia-free and Rickettsia-plus, of the sweet potato whitefly Bemisia tabaci to insecticides from various chemical groups, including acetamiprid, imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, spiromesifen, diafenthiuron, and pyriproxyfen. The results shows that the infection status of Bemisia tabaci populations by Rickettsia is a significant consideration when performing resistance monitoring studies.
