- Abstract
Blackberry propagation is usually done by herbaceous cuttings, but the use of auxins can produce more vigorous plants, and staking can be done regardless of the position in which the cutting is placed in the substrate. The objective was to evaluate the rooting of mulberry cuttings with the use of hormone and varying the position of the cutting at the time of staking. Mulberry herbaceous cuttings measuring 25 cm were used, in 280 mL tubes, in a randomized block design (4x5), in the substrate earth + bioplant®, and treatment consisting of 20 cuttings. The treatments were: stake in normal position without hormone, stake in normal position with hormone, stake in inverted position without hormone, stake in inverted position with hormone AIB at a dosage of 2,000 mg.Kg-1. Ninety days after staking, the survival of the cuttings, number of leaves, bud length, root length, green and dry mass of leaves, green and dry mass of the root were evaluated. Blackberry cuttings can be staked in the normal or inverted way and they root normally, showing that the basipetal or acropitic circulation does not interfere with rooting. IBA has no influence on survival and aerial parts production in blackberry cuttings.
