- Abstract
The article discusses research being done on adipokines with anti-inflammatory properties. It references the study "Sfrp5 is an anti-inflammatory adipokine that modulates metabolic dysfunction in obesity," by N. Ouchi and colleagues in the June 17, 2010 issue of "Science." The result of the study shows that secreted frizzled-related protein five (SFRP5) might incite WNT5A-induced JUN N-terminal kinase one (JNK1) phosphorylation, and can lead to substantial improvements in glucose metabolism.
