- Abstract
The intensification of globalization has made internationalization an opportunity, or even a way of survival for Brazilian companies. In this way, the identification of the factors that influence their international expansion capacity becomes essential. When approaching smaller companies, the debate is even more relevant, as there are many obstacles faced when launching themselves into the international market. Thus, the objective of this study was to identify and understand the most critical factors that influence the international expansion capacity of Brazilian micro and small companies. For this purpose, a multiple case study was carried out with one micro and two small Brazilian companies from different sectors. From this study, it was possible to identify that factors such as product quality, partnerships, and knowledge about cultural differences are critical to the success of the companies studied.
