EFETIVIDADE DA FISIOTERAPIA CONVENCIONAL E DO MÉTODO PILATES NA FUNCIONALIDADE, FORÇA MUSCULAR RESPIRATÓRIA E CAPACIDADE DE EXERCÍCIO EM PACIENTES RENAIS CRÔNICOS HOSPITALIZADOS: ESTUDO CONTROLADO ALEATORIZADO.

- Abstract
Introdução: O Método Pilates é utilizado para diversos fins. Acredita-se que um programa de fisioterapia hospitalar, baseado nele, poderá proporcionar melhor tratamento aos pacientes renais crônicos hospitalizados e oferecer outra opção de tratamento ao fisioterapeuta. Método: Aleatorizados 56 pacientes internados nos grupos Fisioterapia Convencional e Pilates, avaliados quanto ao nível de atividade física (Perfil de Atividade Humana), funcionalidade (Índice de Barthel- IB), força muscular respiratória (Manovacuometria) e capacidade de exercício (Teste do Degrau). Na pré-intervenção, após a 5ª e 10ª sessão de tratamento ou no momento da alta hospitalar. Dados em média e desvio-padrão. Utilizou-se os modelos lineares mistos para os desfechos primários e o teste t de student para os desfechos secundários. Resultados: Os pacientes apresentaram em média 20% da capacidade de exercício quando comparados a controles saudáveis. Não houve diferença significante entre os grupos em relação à funcionalidade -1,3; p=0,53, força muscular inspiratória e expiratória respectivamente -1,3 e -4,5; p=0,64 e p=0,09, e capacidade de exercício -3,3; p=0,49. O mesmo se aplica quando observada a diferença entre as médias para a satisfação dos pacientes em relação ao atendimento recebido -2,0; p=0,57 e para os dias de internação hospitalar 4,5; p=0,43. Melhora significativa dos valores de PImáx e total de degraus de todo o grupo em função do tempo. Conclusão: Não houve diferença entre a Fisioterapia Convencional e o Método Pilates para qualquer dos desfechos clínicos avaliados no período de hospitalização. Independente do grupo, ambos os métodos repercutem de forma positiva na evolução das variáveis.
