- Abstract
The article reports on research which was conducted to investigate the perspectives of U.S. physicians regarding the medical risks and benefits associated with circumcising newborn male infants. Researchers conducted an electronic survey with 1,500 physicians in 2008. They found that only about one third of the physicians surveyed thought that the benefits of male circumcision outweighed the risks and recommended it to parents.
