- Abstract
Dimethacrylate adhesives are glues which polymerize in the presence of metal and in the absence of air. They are widely used in assembly processes in the automobile industry. As these are delicate jobs, gloves are often not practical, resulting in skin contamination. Although dimethacrylate sensitivity was suspected in a 43-year-old patient when testing with the adhesive, this was not confirmed when testing with the constituents. Thus, this case emphasizes the importance of considering other sensitizers present as additives alongside well recognized sensitizers.
