- Abstract
Cutaneous vascular malformations acquired in adulthood have been rarely reported.[3] In one case, they were associated with cerebral cavernous malformations.[4] An eruptive appearance of multiple diffuse cutaneous and subcutaneous vascular malformations has not been reported. To better characterize the subcutaneous nodules and to exclude the possibility of these malformations being associated with internal malignancy, imaging with computed tomography (CT) and PET-CT was performed. Vascular malformations represent one of the two categories of vascular anomalies (ISSVA classification).[1] Unlike vascular tumors that result from endothelial cell proliferation, vascular malformations are characterized by dysplastic vascular channels resulting from errors in vessel morphogenesis.
