- Title
Tribunal Internacional de Derecho del Mar (TIDM).
- Abstract
The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) is an institution created in 1982 with the objective of resolving disputes related to the interpretation and application of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. During the year 2020, the tribunal continued its work despite the COVID-19 pandemic, making amendments to its rules to allow for meetings and reading of judgments through video links. Among the notable decisions of the tribunal is the dispute between Mauritius and Maldives regarding the delimitation of the maritime boundary in the Indian Ocean, where the replacement of a judge was accepted. A procedural order related to the arrest and detention of the M/T "San Padre Pío" No 2 was also issued. The article was published in the Colombian Yearbook of International Law.
