SORVEGLIANZA SANITARIA DEI LAVORATORI DELLA SANITÀ ESPOSTI AD AGENTI BIOLOGICI TRASMISSIBILI PER VIA EMATOGENA IN TRE OSPEDALI ITALIANI.

- Abstract
Introduzione. Gli operatori sanitari sono frequentemente esposti ad agenti biologici trasmissibili per via ematogena. Metodi. Abbiamo condotto uno studio retrospettivo sugli infortuni a rischio biologico emotrasmesso (IRB) in tre ospedali con l'obiettivo di contribuire alla valutazione del rischio biologico. Risultati. La sieroprevalenza della risposta immunitaria ai principali agenti biologici trasmissibili per via ematogena è risultata in linea con i dati di letteratura nazionali (1.4% HBV, 1.3% HCV, 0.1% HIV). La proporzione di operatori sanitari vaccinati per HBV è risultata pari al 63% (3% non responder). Il rischio di IRB è risultato stabile negli anni e più elevato per gli infermieri nelle unità di Pronto Soccorso e Sala Operatoria. Quali priorità di intervento sono emerse l'attività di informazione/formazione ed addestramento del personale a maggior rischio di esposizione, la redazione e diffusione di specifiche procedure per l'utilizzo/smaltimento di aghi e taglienti, e la valutazione delle caratteristiche di sicurezza dei presidi medico/chirurgici e dei dispositivi di protezione individuale. Discussione. L'analisi dei dati della sorveglianza sanitaria si conferma un efficace strumento per la valutazione del rischio di IRB negli operatori sanitari.
