- Authors

- Abstract
The author discusses the treatment of severely infected patients with the administration of antibiotics and complex challenges related with it. He talks of β-lactam antibiotics, the first line therapy most effective for severe infections and evaluates the effects continuous infusion (CI) and intermittent administrations (IA) in patients with severe sepsis not requiring renal replacement therapy (RRT). The author concludes that the therapy is not proven but could be best for severe infections.
