- Abstract
The article discusses the result of a study which investigated the potential effect of osteoporosis treatment Strontium ranelate (SrR) on the quality of human bone material in transiliac bone biopsies from postmenopausal osteoporotic women. It was found that the SrR effect on bone mineralization density distribution may not be due to changes in bone calcium content but influenced by the uptake of Strontium. The study also reveals that bone quality determinants were preserved after three-year treatment with SrR.
