- Abstract
The article presents a twin study on the genetic and environmental influence on structural strength of weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing bone. A bivariate genetic analysis was conducted among 217 older female twin pairs. The results showed that the differences in the compressive structural strength of forearm, and leg among older women are regulated by both genetic, and environmental factors.
