- Authors
Easterling, Anita Tripathi; Higgins, Jeanmarie
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the use of semiotic analysis in designing domestic stage space. It further describes the case study conducted specifically on the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's 2011 production of Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird" to illustrate the semiotic process, the confluence of scene design, memory, and domestic space. It also examines stage designer Jo Mielziner's design for Arthur Miller's play "Death of a Salesman."
