- Abstract
The article focuses on London's Alternative Investment Market (AIM) and how it is competing with the Nasdaq as the preferred global venue for science based companies. Analysts indicate that AIM lacks specialist investors such as biotechnology, nanotechnology or clean energy. Presently AIM lists 300 businesses from 26 countries and the regulatory requirements are relatively light. The article also discusses the role of nominated advisers in shepherding the new companies.
