- Abstract
A total of 50 fecal samples were collected from ostrich and examined using direct smears to investigate with and without centrifugation. The current study revealed to 11 genus of intestinal parasite (trophozoites, oocyst and cysts), as follow: Cryptospordium sp. (20%), Eimeria sp. (8%), Entamoeba sp. (4%), Buxtonella sp (4%), Ascaridia egg (10%), Heterakis egg (2%), Cestode egg (4%), Eggs of trematode (2%), Raillietina egg (4%), Rhabditiform larvae (12%) and Isospora sp. (2%). were all identified. Ostriches were discovered to be enzootically infected by nematode and protozoan organisms after the data was analyzed (Mix parasite infection). There have been a few occurrences of intestinal parasite infections in Iraqi ostriches. The goal of this study is to identify and characterize intestinal parasite in Iraqi ostriches.
