- Abstract
The aim of this study is to explain the effect of Tribulus terrestris ethanoic extract 70% on some physiological and hematological parameters in male mice. Forty male mice were used in this study divided for two groups, the first Twenty adult male mice distributed to 4 groups (G1 control, G2 received orally 2.5 mg/kg B.W (T.t.) extract, G3 received orally 5 mg/kg B.W (T.t.) extract and G4 received orally 10 mg/kg B.W (T.t.) extract) For 4 weeks were used for biochemical study. The results explained that (T.t) extract there was non-significant (P £ 0.05) decrease in blood glucose, there was a significant (P d" 0.05) decrease in liver enzymes levels GOT, GPT in G2, G3, G4 groups with comparing with G1 group. The second Twenty adult male mice revealed a significantly (P £ 0.05) increase serum testosterone concentration in G2, G3, G4 groups as compared with G1 group. The anticoagulant results revealed that there was significant (P £ 0.05) increase in hemoglobin concentration and hematocrit value in G2, G3, G4 groups that received (T.t) extract comparing with control (G1) group. Also, a significant (P £ 0.05) increase in total white blood cell count in G2, G3, G4 groups as comparing with control (G1) group with a significant (P £ 0.05) increase in lymphocyte count, neutrophil, monocyte and basophil count in G2, G3, G4 groups as comparing with control group with significant (P £ 0.05) decrease in eosinophil count in G2 and G4 groups as compared with control group.
