- Title
Staff told to save patients from needless X-rays.
- Abstract
This article discusses the effort of the British Healthcare Commission calling on emergency and other healthcare staff to ensure they do not expose patients to unnecessary radiation through X-rays, computed tomography scans and other procedures. A report from the commission stresses that most reported incidents involved low doses of radiation and carried little risk to patients. It also highlights variations in the number of incidents reported by National Health Service trusts and other healthcare providers.
