- Abstract
The article discusses the case of a 46-year-old man diagnosed to have babesiosis. Topics discussed include the results of Giemsa-stained blood smearing showing intra-erythocytic parasites in the patient, human presence in tick, cattle and domestic animal habitats as potential cause, clindamycin and quinine as the recommended treatment but the therapy failed and was switched to atovaquone/proguanil plus azithromycin.
