TRIALOGUE: OUT OF THE SHADOWS INTO BLAZING "DESERT" SUN!
- Authors
Swidler, Leonard
- Abstract
In this article the author discusses the growing dialogue between the Jewish, Christian and Islamic faiths. As evidence of the willingness of Islam to engage in dialogues with other religions the author points to "A Common Word between Us and You," a document compiled by 138 Muslim scholars, and by the embrace of interreligious dialogue by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. The article likens the Muslim awakening to Vatican II, a liberalizing document adopted by the Catholic Church in 1965. The foundation of the organization the International Scholars Abrahamic Trialogue is examined.
