- Authors

- Abstract
Once again Congress has passed a piece of legislation that will have a significant effect on employee benefits. Many of the provisions of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 are aimed at increasing revenue for the federal government. Most of these revenue raising provisions will result in higher costs for employers and their employees. The act also contains other provisions that appear to be aimed at reforming certain employee benefit practices. In this sense, the bill is the 1987 version of tax reform. This article highlights the major changes in employee benefits created by the act.
