- Abstract
The article discusses a report on salmonella Newport infections associated with unpasteurized milk consumption from April to June 2010, published in a 2010 issue of "Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report." Three cases of Salmonella enterica serotype Newport infection were reported on April 29, followed by another three cases on May 3. Utah Department of Health (UDOH) found that all patients infected with salmonella Newport infections have consumed unpasteurized milk. The authors note that consuming unpasteurized dairy products pose health risks.
