- Authors
Haynes, Jeffrey M.
- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 63-year-old male who was receiving a pressure-support ventilation (PSV) because of laparotomy to repair a ruptured viscus. He developed an abdominal sepsis and eventually underwent tracheotomy. It states that PSV created change in the patient's breathing pattern, as well as it helps doctor to correct sources of patient-ventilator asynchrony. Therefore, patients are enabled to control neutrally the ventilation.
