- Abstract
In this article, the author discusses the PACTG 076 study that helps in lessening the risks to mothers being exposed to single-dose nevirapine. The author states that the study not just set the principle to minimize vertical transmission of human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) to infants, but the fits success story of antiretroviral. The author says that the fundamental components of PACTG minimized HIV-1 transmission 67.5% in infants provided replacement feeding.
