- Abstract
A literary criticism of the character Miss Miggs from the novel “Barnaby Rudge: A Tale of the Riots of 'Eighty " by writer Charles Dickens is presented. It analyses influence from poem "The Rape of the Lock" by poet Alexander Pope and from painting "The Four Times of the Day" by painter William Hogarth. Also include Dickens' influence from Protestantism, biblical references, and the depiction of the character Cupid in the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by author William Shakespeare.
