- Abstract
The article discusses a proposed image restoration technique to partly compensate for a reduction of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) resulting from increased spatial resolution in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The technique is applied to MRI data obtained on a 7-Tesla (7-T) MRI scanner. It is designed for denoising MRI images with the use of a two-stage procedure that comprises of Wiener wavelet filtering and speckle reducing anisotropic diffusion. The similarities of the proposed technique with the compressed sensing (CS) technique are tackled.
