- Abstract
The article discusses the challenges concerning the efficient implementation of the Endangered Species Act in the U.S. It states that the proposal of Dirk Kempthorne, Secretary of the Department of Interior, to carry out construction projects without seeking permission from the Fish and Wildlife Service has raised arguments among environmentalists and agencies. They stress that Kempthorne's proposal poses a threat on the conservation and protection of different species which may result to their extinction. Information on the various strategies that will the government address the issue is also presented.
