- Title
Utilization of Copper Slag in Concrete Manufacturing.
- Authors

- Abstract
Copper slag is produced as a by-product during metal smelting processes to extract copper metal from the ore. Some of the industrial by- products have been successfully used in the construction industry, which not only makes it economical but also helps in reducing the problems of disposal and health hazards of by-products. Copper slag is one such industrial by-product which may exhibit pozzolanic properties and therefore be used in manufacture of concrete, either as substitute of concrete or aggregates. Published literature shows that copper slag could be used in cement mortars and concrete. This paper reviews the characteristics of copper slag and its effects on concrete properties such as setting time, workability, compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength.
