- Abstract
1. The herbicide. 3-amino-1,2,4 triazole forms an adduct with glucose both in vitro and in vivo. Evidence presented indicates that this adduct is the amine glucoside. 2. Although 3-AT does not affect hexokinase activity, the glucose adduct acts as a substrate for this enzyme. The affinity of the adduct for hexokinase is considerably lower than glucose. 3. The possible physiological significance of the formation of the 3-AT-glucose adduct is discussed.
