- Abstract
The article focuses on the impact of several books that address environmental issues on environmental movement. It is argued that the assumption that books have set the environmental agenda may be questioned, however, the evolution of the movement has been recorded in books written by various environmentalists including Rachel Carlson, Barbara Ward and Theo Colborn. It is noted that these authors have explored environmental issues, complex arguments and even distorted views in their books, focusing on the consequences of population growth and resource scarcity, climate change, the relationship of ecology and geology, and pollution.
