The Authors Respond….
- Authors
Thomas-Ružić, Maria; Thompson-Panos, Karyn
- Abstract
The article presents the author's response to a letter that commented on one of her articles published in a previous issue. She says that the word "The least" was used in the title of that article to indicate those primary features of the Arabic language that have been found responsible for some shortcomings in Arab students' written English. She defends by saying that the article was neither a contrastive study of Arabic and English nor a deep analysis of the Modern Standard Arabic. She says that they will work more to investigate the role of first language in the acquisition and learning of second language.
