- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigates the impact of organic solvents such as glycerol and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) formamide on the reverse transcription (RT) reaction catalyzed through reverse transcriptases from moloney murine leukemia virus (MMLV) and avian myeloblastosis virus (AMV). The study expressed the MMLV RT gene under the T7 promoter in Escherichia coli. Result shows that the use of organic chemicals improves yields and specificity in polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
