- Abstract
The article presents a study which analyzes the effect of secoisolariciresinol (SECO) on the regulation of 3T3-L1 adipocytes. It states that SECO, being the most abundant dietary lignans, occurs predominantly in a glycosylated form in food products. It also discusses and identifies the relationship between molecular structure and its activity. Moreover, discussion on the results of the study including the effect of SECOs on adiponectin production and on mRNA expression of adiponectin are given.
