- Abstract
The article is based on the data from 834 survey data in the pig breeding industry in seven provinces in China, and uses multiple regression analysis to test the impact of environmental regulations on the ecological efficiency of pig farming. The results showed that compared to farmers who have not enjoyed environmental regulation policies, farmers who had enjoyed environmental regulation policies have higher ecological efficiency in pig breeding. The longer the implementation of environmental regulation policies, the greater the degree of improvement in the ecological efficiency of pig breeding. The larger the proportion of pig product output value to regional GDP, the higher the ecological efficiency of pig breeding. The larger the scale of farmer farming, the stronger the positive impact of environmental regulations on the ecological efficiency of pig breeding. The rich experience of farmers in pig breeding can strengthen the promoting effect of environmental regulations on the ecological efficiency of pig breeding. The higher the level of economic development in the region where farmers were located, the stronger the role of environmental regulations in improving the ecological efficiency of pig farming. Therefore, increasing the financial support, promoting the pig breeding work according to local conditions, and carrying out the breeding technology training can strengthen the positive impact of environmental regulations on the ecological efficiency of pig breeding.
